The Succubus (Sucubi in plural) is a powerful female demon, that can be traced back to medieval folklore and legend, with its male counterpart being known as an Incubus. It will take on the appearance of a seductive woman and manifest in the dreams of its chosen victim in order to seduce them, usually through sexual activity. Repeated sexual encounters with the succubus will gradually drain them of their soul and result in the deterioration of the victim's health and mental state, eventually ending in their death. These she-demons have intense charisma and seductive power to match their appearance. They are cunning, with a talent to ensnare men with their words as much as their bodies and take great pride in their ability to please (and manipulate) men. The ancestors of today’s Succubi, on the other hand, had personalities as nasty as their looks. They were sneaky, controlling, and malicious. Despite being sex-crazed, they had no interest in pleasing men. Instead, using sex for their own purposes, to corrupt the pious, to gain life force, or even to have children! Throughout history, priests and rabbis have attempted to curb the power of succubi over humans. However, not all were considered to be malevolent. It is said, that Pope Sylvester II (999–1003) was allegedly involved with a succubus named Meridiana, who helped him achieve his high rank in the Catholic Church. Before his death, he confessed of his sins and died repentant.

Physiology:

Succubi have a sexually appealing appearance and will appear in whatever form is most pleasing to their intended victim. Previously, Succubi were described as being horribly disfigured monsters, with rows of teeth, 3 sets of breasts and talon-like nails. It is also a possibility, that this could be the true form behind the illusion they create and over time, they have refined their talent of deception, appearing as the bewitching female figure described in modern times.

Etylmology:

The word succubus originates from the late 14th century and is derived from Late Latin succuba "paramour", succubare "to lie beneath" and cubare "to lie"), which is used to describe this demon's implied sexual position relative to the male

History:

Female sex-demons have been prevalent since the dawn of folklore and found in cultures worldwide, such as India's “yakshini,” Arabia's “qarinha,” and Native America's “deer woman,” also appearing in sleep disturbances, where victims describe feeling someone sitting on their chest or pelvic area.' and waking, feeling drained.

Territory:

Worldwide

Origination:

Lilith, whom was Adam's first wife is said to be the oldest Succubus in existence, She left Adam, refusing to serve man for eternity and would not return to the Garden of Eden after mating with the archangel Samael (a.k.a Satan), whom she petitioned for the ability to instead bring vengeance against man for eternity instead of servitude. He granted her request, and she became the first succubus.

Nature:

Deceitful and seductive. The sucubus is a powerful seductress who loves nothing more than to toy with men. She will manipulate her victims with her honey coated words as well as her desirable form, but the experience is by no means a positive one and over repeat encounters will leave them drained or even dead.

Modus Operandi:

Will take on a highly sexualized female form pleasing to the victim and appear to them via dreams, using sex, manipulation and compelling psychic abilities to overcome and seduce them. They will feed from their soul and returning night after night until it is entirely consumed.

Vulnerability:

Since the succubus is a demonic entity and an "Astral being" it is non-corporeal and is therfore unable to be killed. It is however vulnerable to all religious symbolism, artifacts and prayers, as well as binding spells. The best deffense against such a creature would be to cast a banishment spell, which would send it back to its own plane of existence. It is also said that the only thing a succubus loves more than manipulating men is it's own reflection. If the demon sees it's own reflection in a mirror it will become momentarily trapped, allowing for a precious time in which to muster up an escape plan . If you are strong willed or focused enough, waking up or refusing their advances is also a possibility, although they are known to be vengeful if slighted and could retaliate.
